Love was NOT in the air in Action Wrestling on the last Monday before Valentine's Day. Instead, there was a ton of animosity on CruiserClash and the Monday Night Clash dubbed "Monday Night Clash RIVALS". So what happened on the first night of AW in February? Let's run it back and recap it, starting with a MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Top Story: World Championship #1 Contender match announced
We learned a lot during this show. Like how this match will be taking place in Atlantic City on the 28th as the main event of "Casino Night". However, as surprising as that is, it wasn't nearly as shocking as finding out who was in it. These are the SEVEN competitors announced for the ladder match.
===>Regan Vorhees
===>Jill Park
===>Downfall
===>Dionysus
===>Carter Shaw
===>Corey Black
===>Johnny Bacchus
Things to consider heading into the match:
==>The status of Johnny Bacchus<==
The final wrestler announced for this match will be making his return after being out for nearly three months. He suffered an ankle injury during his battle with Downfall in the semifinals of the Wrestler of the Year Tournament back in November. We're hoping that his ankle has fully healed as he'll certainly need it to be if he wants to be the one making the final ladder climb after what will definitely be a chaotic match.
==>Affluenza the...equalizer?<==
Both Jill Park and Regan Vorhees have come within an eyelash of capturing the World Title in the last couple of months. With the femme fatales working together, this brings up an interesting scenario. If one of them ends up winning, will the other help out by neutralizing Dandyโs brother, Richard in the title bout?
==>Changing of the Vanguard?<==
Downfall narrowly missed out on defending the World Title that he won on the MNC season premiere back on January 3rd. He and fellow Tag Team Champion Dionysus had a small, but fatal miscommunication at the end of that match. Obviously, some fans speculated that this was an ominous sign. However, the two of them seem to have brushed off that moment with Dion still supporting Downfall while also admitting that he'd want a shot against his teammate for the World Title should he become champion again.

Two Gents CW Title Match: Andre Jenson def. Teo Blaze(c) via pinfall for the CW Title
CruiserClash's most decorated tag team, the Two Gents, have added another accolade to their list of achievements. Of all the people that could've dethroned Teo, it was his own best friend that got the better of him. It was a truly remarkable story where the fans would be happy regardless of who won. Unfortunately for both guys, they were viciously attacked by Roddy Zalez and Kitsumi. It's clear that they have a vendetta against Two Gents, but they may also be trying to knife their way into the Cruiserweight Title scene. We'll have to see where this goes as the shows progress.
Sam Kidsgrove, Day 1/360
In a heartfelt message to everyone, the legendary Sam Kidsgrove announced to us all that he's going to spend the next 360 days scrapping with anyone and everyone who wishes to face him. He also declared that after that time has elapsed, he'll either be gone or he'll have a new contract as well as what he hopes will be the World Title alongside the paperwork. Based off his words, he feels like he could be in the waning stages of his career, but he still has at least one strong run within him, and he intends to run until he can't run anymore. Swan song or second wind? Only time will tell.
