The scene cuts to show Denzel Porter sitting in a chair with a backdrop behind him that reads, ‘THE DENZEL PORTER SHOW.’ He’s got a mic in hand, ready to start his interview in front of the cameras.
DENZEL PORTER: Welcome back to the Denzel Porter Show, ladies, and gentlemen. I am LIVE! From Greece in the beautiful home of The Goddess Atara Themis as I am about to conduct one of the most exciting interviews of my career. My guest tonight is a rookie in the wrestling scene, making headlines everywhere she goes recently, and now you wouldn't be surprised if you followed her Family name. The Straders have always been an influence in wrestling, so it's no surprise that this young lady has a bright future. Now let me not hold us up any longer. Please welcome Victoria Strader!!!
Victoria Strader: Thank you, Mr. Porter. It’s an honor to be asked for this interview by you. You have been a wonderful addition to the industry as a whole.
DENZEL PORTER: Why, thank you, Miss Strader. That means a lot to know that people appreciate my work. Now before we begin, I just want you to know as many people; I am glad you are safe and no longer in harm's way.
Victoria Strader: My pleasure, it’s important to let people know their worth especially when it’s been nothing but positive change! And thank you, it was a really strange five days, but I am just thankful to my entire family, OCW’s CFO Tony Savage, and of course your network's own and my own Goddess, Atara Themis. Thankfully no one got hurt that didn’t deserve it.
DENZEL PORTER: Yes, it was a beautiful effort to see everyone come together and take the matter seriously but tell us about the night; you were taken?
Victoria Strader: It wasn’t long after my dad’s match, and I knew Atty wanted to get out of there, as did I. We went outside to the parking lot of the White Chapel arena in London, England and while we were having a discussion I was pistol whipped and taken right in front of my Lovely. I still have a bump where the butt end of the gun hit me.
DENZEL PORTER: That is just awful, and what kind of person would do such a thing? It was one the most shocking acts I can remember reporting on.
Victoria Strader: That person would be my uncle, Diogenes Knox. As everyone has recently learned, myself included, the PWV Champion Matthew The Raven Knox is my biological father. In some sort of twisted thought, Diogenes figured he could turn me into a weapon to be used at his disposal. Unfortunately he has friends in high and low places and there is no form of justice to be had in this situation. I just think about all the unfortunate young women this man has utilized for his own selfish gains.
DENZEL PORTER: It is a shame this man wasn't stopped before his devilish deeds but now your safe and more women will benefit from what Tony and Matthew did, but let's talk about your career now. I know it's very young, but you picked up a win in your first match in OCW, and now you get ready after all this to take on Bam Miller for a shot at the TransAtlantic Championship. How do you prepare for this match?
Victoria Strader: Well, it’s no secret I did not get off to the greatest start in the history of rookies but since Wrestle World and now OCW I have turned my record into a winning one, which wasn’t an easy thing to do but I stayed focused and hungry. Truth be told, I wasn’t expecting to earn a contendership match so quickly but I am certainly not going to let this opportunity slip by. As far as preparation goes I will watch tapes of Bam Miller’s last few matches, watch his promos again, and look to expand my move-set by training with my Goddess, Atara Themis. My mom taught me that you need to continually grow and learn if you want to make a name for yourself and be successful. If you think you know everything and there is nothing left to learn, then it’s time to hang up those boots. But I am a student of this game and I won’t ever stop bettering myself.
DENZEL PORTER:
That's an excellent way to prepare for such an important hight stakes match up and if you get pass Mr.Miller you'll be one step close to becoming Champion and I have to think that idea excites you?
Victoria Strader: I don’t want to count my eggs before they have hatched but yes, of course that would be pretty exciting, but the possibility of facing Betsy Granger is truly exciting. Been a fan of hers for quite awhile now, you know? She is one of the main reasons I pestered OCW until my application was accepted. I want to test myself against the best, and she definitely falls under that category and I am not like that normally.
DENZEL PORTER:
Oh yes, definitely. Betsy Granger is up there with the very best of them and has been an outstanding Champion. If you manage to beat Bam, I'm sure you and Betsy would be on a classic now. Are there any other people in OCW you would wish to wrestle one day?
Victoria Strader: That’s the thing isn’t? Everyone has a legend or future legend in their minds that they want to test their mettle against. I can’t say I do. I would like to say take on Supreme Machine, Xavier Lux, Betsy Granger, and Peter Vaughn but outside it’s not because of who they are, it’s because of what they are: champions, Denzel. Betsy would be my exception to the rule. There are so many people out there who cheap knock-offs from the ones before us but everyone once in a while there is anin the rough.
DENZEL PORTER: Hey, nothing wrong with having a different mindset from others; it's unique in this industry. Now, as a Strader, do you feel more pressure to perform excellent given your family's legacy in this business?
Victoria Strader: My detractors will throw out the most recent run of the family as it didn’t go as planned but grandpa and my great uncles had close to fifty titles between them, my mom and aunt didn’t get the career they deserved due to injuries but the were able to hold multiple tag team titles and earned a Hall of Fame nod because of one of them. One could say that would be a driving force, same goes with being the daughter of a man everyone had written off and he’s now a world champion, damn near unbeatable. But to answer the question, no I don’t. What I do feel is the pressure to be my own legacy, regardless if you call me Knox or Strader when my name is said. I will stand tall, give it my entire being every time I step through those ropes
DENZEL PORTER:
Beautifully said, Now before we sign off, Is there anything else you would like to let the fans or any critics know about you?
Victoria Strader: well first things first, thank you Denzel for providing a platform to tell my fans and haters about what I went through and what to expect moving forward. As to your question: Do not underestimate me. Do not compare me to my mother, my father, or any other Strader or Knox. I am one of a kind, and it would be completely irresponsible to write me off. There’s a reason I am the future Queen of the Strader family.
DENZEL PORTER: Well There you have it folks I hope you've enjoyed this sit down interview with myself and Victoria Strader. Join me next time on The Denzel Porter show.
