Lexi Guerra: Hello everyone and welcome to my first edition of getting to know the 5BW Fighters for the EWNetwork! I am Lexi Guerra, bringing you everything that you need to know about these fighters from New York! My first guest is going to be a special one. She is a part of the Harrison Family and representing Five Boroughs Wrestling tomorrow night for night three in the Tara Fenix Charity Cruise! My guest is none other than Amy Harrison! Amy, welcome to the show!
Amy is seen live from Zoom and actually on the cruise herself.
Amy Harrison: Thank you for having me.
Lexi Guerra: Now we all know you come from the Harrison family. How does it feel that you are carrying a legacy so strong, even in Five Boroughs Wrestling?
Amy Harrison: It feels good. As you probably know, this all started with my dad, who wrestled decades ago, and now it’s being continue with me and Mary Ellen, and I for one and proud to be able to continue it.
Lexi Guerra: Now everyone knows your sister Mary Ellen Harrison is in Five Boroughs Wrestling and is a former FIGHT Champion in her own right along with challenging for the tag team championships with Samantha Tolson down the line, how are you feeling about Mary Ellen’s success thus far?
Amy Harrison: It’s good to see her being able to have her own success. I know when we were both in CKP she felt like she was always going to be in my shadow because I was already a recognized name, so she wanted to go on her own outside, and judging by her success in 5BW, she’s doing just that, and I couldn’t be prouder.
Lexi Guerra: Looking back at that, you almost didn’t join 5BW after a well documented history with injuries, such as the back injury you suffered. What was the reason to actually come to Five Boroughs Wrestling? Was it you wanted to rewrite your passage or you wanted to cement your legacy even more?
Amy Harrison: I didn’t want that injury to be the end of my career. I wanted to end on my own terms and thought that I still had a lot more to show people, plus you can’t just give up wrestling because someone tells you you can’t anymore, so in a way, I wanted to prove people wrong as well.
Lexi Guerra: It is also said that you and Meagan G, current 5BW General Manager, had wars in the past, especially during your time in CKP. How do you feel about her being your boss technically?
Amy Harrison: At first, I wasn’t sure about it. The two of us were heated rivals, so there was that thought in the back of my head asking if I could trust her, but overtime she showed that she’s as fair as she can be, and doesn’t take crap from anyone, and I respect that.
Lexi Guerra: On the topic of Meagan, you won the Budge Cup that was in honor of her late grandfather and also, your charity being the Alzheimer's Association for the cruise. How do you honestly feel about doing something for her grandfather's memory?
Amy Harrison: After hearing about him from Meagan, I could tell that her grandfather was as important to her career as my dad was to mine, and that’s saying something. For me, if my dad wasn’t there at the beginning, pushing me to keep going and to get better, I wouldn’t be here right now, so I take it as an honour.
Lexi Guerra: On the topic of the Freedom Championship, you are in a bit of a rivalry with Minka Carter and had no incidents went down, you would’ve been coming in this event Freedom Champion. At Turkey Trot, you will be in a gauntlet against Lacey Moreau, Tyler Truex, Fiona Franklin, Larissa Johnson and a fifth person if you make it that far? How are you feeling overall?
Amy Harrison: At first, I didn’t feel that good about it, but add the emotion of having getting screwed out of the title about 20 minutes before and you’re not thinking about anything good, but now that I had time to think about it, it’s the perfect opportunity for me to show Minka that the bitch is back. If I can go through those five, who knows what I can do against her one on one.
Lexi Guerra:Before you get there, you will be facing off against Kelly Penkzee-Nelson on the cruise. How are you feeling going against her? Any nerves? Any challenges?
Amy Harrison: There’s a little bit of nerves knowing who I’m against, and what’s at stake, not to mention the location and added exposure the cruise brings. Not everyone on this ship knows who we are, but my goal is that by the end of the night, everyone will be talking about us.
Lexi Guerra: Since you answered everything, and I thank you, are you ready for the questions from Twitter?
Amy Harrison: Sure, bring them on!
Lexi Guerra: Here we go….
Amy Harrison: The biggest victory would be winning the Budge Cup. That was pretty much the match that told me that I can still go with the best. The worst defeat was using the UTA Prodigy Championship just weeks after I clawed my way to winning it. In terms of dream opponents, there’s too many to name now, but there are a few that I want to see step it up.
Amy Harrison: Oh brother, here we go again…… Why am I still here? Pretty much to piss you off.
Lexi Guerra: Well, here is an interesting one…..
Amy Harrison: Are you sure you’re not talking about YOUR husband?
Amy Harrison: Well, I was looking forward to it a lot in the buildup, and now that we’re here, I’m enjoying it here too. We’re about half way through now, and there’s a lot more I need to do before this cruise is finished.
Amy Harrison: Both of those rivalries were heated for totally different reasons. The one with Meagan was heated because we just wanted to kill each other every match we had, the one with Sarah was heated because…….well, jealousy can be a hell of a drug, and we got into some wild stuff during that feud, which I don’t think I can get to on here. I’m doing my best to behave here.
Lexi Guerra: And another questionable one?
Amy Harrison: Jealous? Oh no, I’m not jealous of her success. I already had success long before she did. She deserves her time in the spotlight, and I’m happy she’s getting it. Plus, the more people keeping the Harrison legacy alive, the better.
Lexi Guerra: And finally to wrap it all up…
Amy Harrison: I already kinda answered the first part, but in terms of goals…… beat KPN here, beat Minka for the Freedom Championship, and maybe go for the World Title down the line. But the big goal is to make sure that when my career is over, that no one will forget my name.
Lexi Guerra: Well that’s all the time we have for the show! Thank you everyone for listening! Tune in tomorrow night as we see Amy Harrison taking on Kelly Penkzee-Nelson
Amy Harrison: Thank you for having me, and believe me, you don’t want to miss tomorrow!
